A one-step carbonization route towards nitrogen-doped porous carbon hollow spheres with ultrahigh nitrogen content for CO2 adsorption.
Nitrogen doped porous carbon hollow spheres (N-PCHSs) with an ultrahigh nitrogen content of 15.9 wt% and a high surface area of 775 m(2) g(-1) were prepared using Melamine-formaldehyde nanospheres as hard templates and nitrogen sources. The N-PCHSs were completely characterized and were found to exhibit considerable CO2 adsorption performance (4.42 mmol g(-1)).

Hollow nitrogen-doped carbon spheres (HNCSs) were prepared by a facile method as non-precious catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). The HNCS catalysts exhibited ORR activity comparable with a commercial Pt/C catalyst and superior stability in alkaline electrolyte medium.

Here, we report the synthesis of nitrogen-doped hollow carbon nanospheres (N-HCSs) via a two-step Stöber method. The resultant N-HCSs possess a uniform size of ∼220 nm, a high nitrogen loading content of 14.8 wt% and a high surface area of 767 m(2) g(-1), as well as exhibit a considerable performance for CO2 capture with a capacity of 2.67 mmol g(-1) and a high selectivity in a mixture gas (N2 ...
متن کاملSpherical nitrogen-doped hollow mesoporous carbon as an efficient bifunctional electrocatalyst for Zn-air batteries.
Materials based upon porous carbon have gained considerable attention due to their high surface area, electric conductivity, thermal and chemical stability, low density, and availability. These superior properties make them ideal for diverse applications. Doping these carbon nanostructures holds promise of designing the properties of these structures and opening the door to practical applicatio...
متن کاملHierarchically porous silicon–carbon–nitrogen hybrid materials towards highly efficient and selective adsorption of organic dyes
The hierarchically macro/micro-porous silicon-carbon-nitrogen (Si-C-N) hybrid material was presented with novel functionalities of totally selective and highly efficient adsorption for organic dyes. The hybrid material was conveniently generated by the pyrolysis of commercial polysilazane precursors using polydivinylbenzene microspheres as sacrificial templates. Owing to the Van der Waals force...
